Google Pixel Fold: Full Phone Features and Everything

Google Pixel Fold

The Google Pixel Fold is here to show that more than one significant player is there when it comes to the best folding phones.

With Samsung soon releasing its fifth such device, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, there is a lot of excitement for Google’s first foldable.

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, and the new Pixel 7a, were undoubtedly design influences for the rear panel. The design is incredibly gorgeous and fashionable.

We have heard that Google Pixel Fold features are impressive. They are not just average but the best of what Google has always offered in terms of mobile phone models. Let’s deep dive and have a look at it!

Google Pixel Fold Features

1. Design and Screens

A huge flexible OLED display that can be folded inward is anticipated for the Google Pixel Fold’s foldable design. A 7.6-inch screen is anticipated for the gadget. The device is also anticipated to have a high rate and high-quality display.

The 5.8-inch cover display for the Google Pixel Fold has a rate of 120 Hz, a 17:4:9 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 1080 x 2092 pixels at 408 pixels per inch (PPI). The brightness ranges from 1200 nits in normal use to 1550 nits at its brightest.

The interior display consists of a 7.6-inch foldable OLED screen with HDR10+, a usual brightness range of 1000 nits, and a maximum brightness of 1450 nits. It has an 1840 x 2208 resolution at 378 ppi and can open in landscape or horizontal orientation.

2. Durability Concerns

The Google Pixel Fold features the most durable hinge currently in use. This device’s 180-degree fluid friction hinge increases dust resistance and contributes to its 200,000-fold rating. The Pixel Fold is also IPX8-rated, making it resistant to rain and accidents.

3. Hardware and Camera

A high-end processor, most likely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or its successor, 12GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage are among the hardware updates that are due for the Google Pixel Fold.

It has quick and responsive performance, enough storage for apps, games, images, and videos, and an easy user interface. It appears that the handset with cutting-edge networking Google Pixel Fold features like 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and NFC.

The Pixel Fold has 3 cameras on the back system: a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 1.7 aperture with this, a second 10.8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 121-degree field of view, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom used.

1. Performance and Software:

The Pixel Fold has the powerful Tensor G2 CPU as the Pixel 7 series, and performance is quick. The Tensor G2 has 12GB of RAM, which is commendable, and when ordering, you can select between 256GB and 512GB of storage.

More than 50 of Google’s apps are enhanced for screens and collaborating with other developers to improve apps for foldable devices, Spotify and Disney Plus.

2. Battery and Charging:

The Google Pixel Fold’s internal battery has a capacity of 4,821mAh, which is lower than the 5,000mAh battery found in the Pixel 7 Pro.

The Pixel Fold has a 24-hour battery life but increases Battery Saver to 72 hours. The Pixel Fold has a USB-C cable that can deliver a fast charging speed of up to 30 watts; a power converter must be purchased separately.

With Qi-compatible charging pads, the Pixel Fold does offer wireless charging, but only at a somewhat low 7.5W rate. As a result of the decreased rates, wireless charging will continue to be used.

Google Pixel Fold Price and Availability:

There are only two colors available, Obsidian and Porcelain, which have an obsidian-like appearance. The Google Pixel Fold price is $1,799 for the 256 GB and $1,919 for the 512 GB.

Google Pixel Fold Release Date:

The Google Pixel Fold Release date was set to 11 May 2023 globally. Pre-orders for the Google Fold began on May 10 and distribution started on June 27.

Final thoughts:

The Google Pixel Fold is a highly anticipated foldable phone that boasts impressive hardware and software features. However, the Google Pixel Fold reviews talk about software issues that have negatively impacted its performance, which Google is still struggling to fix.

All in all, when a phone is launched, especially if it is in a competitive market like this, it is bound to have its ups and downs! The fold phone market is already booming with some successful models and in the case of the Google Pixel Fold, we can say that it is not up to the mark!
